Dear Parents/Guardians:
Welcome to the sixth grade! My name is Violeta Camarillo. I taught fifth grade in Fort Smith previously before taking this position. I graduated from the University of Central Arkansas. I speak both English and Spanish.
I am excited to have your child in my classroom. I look forward to working together and making this school year wonderful. I have high expectations for students and with your help, those expectations will be met.
I have attached a classroom guide to inform you of classroom expectations, rules, consequences, procedures, and grading scale. Students will have daily homework (Monday- Thursday). Students will have weekly quizzes. Student’s planners will be used to record homework assignments, projects, and test. Please initial or sign your child’s planner every night to ensure work completion.
Parent communication is very important and beneficial for students. Please feel free to contact me anytime you have questions or concerns (501-329-2782). Email would be the best form of contact at [email protected]. I am happy to answer any of your questions. I will also send a monthly news letter home informing you of important dates and goals. I look forward to getting to know you and your child. I hope to see you at Parent/ Teacher Conference night on October 22nd and 23rd.
